  • Storm Tarps available at Surf City Fire Department -Island Station 10/12/18 10am - 2pm located at 200 Wilmington Ave Surf City
  • 11pm to 7am curfew in place starting again October 12, 2018
  • The Beaches are still currently closed in Surf City.  CAMA permits have been issued and we are currently waiting on FEMA approval so that we can move forward  with beachfront clean up.  It is important that we follow the proper steps required by FEMA as we move forward with clean up.
  • Vegetative debris along with construction and demolition debris continues to be collected. This will continue over the next several weeks.
  • The Town's current State of Emergency Declaration is still in effect.
  • Many businesses are open, we ask that everyone continue to support the local business community. The island is open to the public for dining and shopping, it is ONLY the beaches that are closed , due to dangerous debris.
  • Pender County has issued a State of Emergency due to the potential impact of Hurricane Michael.
  • Town Council is scheduled to meet on October 19th at 9:00am to discuss progress on the beach and sand clean up.

We understand that this recovery has been tough on our community, but we continue to keep moving forward with clean up and restoration of this beautiful area.  #surtcitystrong
